SUPPORTING EDUCATION
On February 15, 2024, Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra welcomed students from PSE (Pour un Sourire d’Enfant) majoring in Front Office and Housekeeping. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for the students to learn about the hospitality industry, gain insights from alumni, and receive guidance for their future careers.
On March 22, 2024, we visited Project Khmer H.O.P.E, welcomed by Ms. Susan, to support their work providing hospitality training and opportunities to students.
Our Talent & Culture Manager is participating in the Sala Bai Open Career Fairs 2024, offering career counseling to students. This initiative aims to help young professionals explore their interests and skills, and make informed career choices within the hospitality industry.
SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES
As a significant part of our sponsorship, Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra proudly hosted two Musica Felice Charity Concerts: the 12th and 13th. Combined, these concerts raised a total of $10,250 in donations, benefiting The Rabbit School and Project Khmer H.O.P.E.
On July 12, 2024, Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra continued its partnership with ISF Cambodia by donating 35kg of soap, 200kg of linen, and 65kg of newspapers to support impoverished children and their families, emphasizing their commitment to sustainability and local community support.
On October 13, 2024, our F&B Kitchen team donated food to the Cambodia Cyclo Association, “sharing love and nutrition with the needy.” We’re proud to support cyclo riders
On October 9, 2024, the Sales & Marketing team of Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra donated food to the Orphanage Branch Center, sharing “love and nutrition with the needy.” This initiative is part of their CSR efforts to support children in need.
On October 26, 2024, the Front Office team donated clothes, medicine, and other necessities to Horizon NGO, demonstrating their commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
On November 26, 2024, the Recreation team donated food and recycled tennis balls to Paw Family Cambodia, supporting animal welfare and sustainability. This initiative aims to provide care for abandoned animals and combat dog meat trading, while also promoting CSR and Green Globe through repurposing.

– We continue to utilize ecoSPIRITS at Le Bar, an innovative system that aims to eliminate all packaging waste such as single use glass in the premium spirits supply chain. This contributes to generating huge savings in waste and carbon footprint for the environment.
SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES
– On 25 July 2023, we were proud to support the inauguration of Kampuchea Sëla Handicap’s new sheltered employment workshop, L’Irrésistible jams & syrups factory. Here’s to empowerment and fostering meaningful opportunities in Cambodia!
– A total of 50kg of repurposed soap was donated to ISF Cambodia to support the promotion of hygiene and sanitation in the community. Additionally, 50kg of newspaper and 180 magazines were also donated. This will serve as sewing practice sheets for their sewing class students, which will help with the making of their handmade souvenir products such as photo frames, vases, and animal origami.
– On 30 April 2023, a Charity Concert was co-organized by Musica Felice to support Kampuchea Sëla Handicap and Empowering Youth in Cambodia with their mission to help underprivileged children and adults. Over 600 people attended and a total of $8633 was raised.
– As a part of the Soap For Hope programme, a total of 55 kg of repurposed soap was donated to Indochina Starfish Foundation (ISF) Cambodia, to help support their mission of increasing access to resources for underprivileged children and communities. This donation will allow over 300 families to receive clean soap for use.
SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES
– We received a Letter of Appreciation from Friends-International Cambodia for our recent donation to Heartist’s Appearance Day.
– We were delighted to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra and Ministry of Labour. The purpose of the MoU is to collaborate in implementing a supportive programme for vocational training and provide job opportunities especially for disabled people by organizing Career Opportunity Sessions, counselling related to the hospitality industry.
– On 9th October 2022, we hosted a remarkable Charity Concert with Musica Felice in Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra’s Grand Ballroom. Over 800 tickets were sold and $9,500 was raised to support 2 institutions Princess Buppha Devi Royal Ballet Dance School and Yamada School of Art.

-Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BELTEI International University. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to train human resources in the hospitality sector by providing workshops, practical training, internships and job opportunities for students .
– In partnership with a local supplier, we are pleased to be part of their social and environmental project. Every empty glass-jar, are given back and recycled whilst offering you a delicious souvenir.
– A total of 15 table clothes is donated to PSE – Pour un Sourire d’Enfant School for them to make table sets. With this kind donation, PSE is able to make 56 napkins, 200 towels and 114 dish towels for usages in the school.
– In association with a local community partner (who is supporting orphans in Phnom Penh), we invite them in to perform Robam Trot (Folk Dance) at our hotel to celebrate Khmer New Year.
– At Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, we are committed to break the gender bias by giving the same opportunity and affection to every Heartists.
– We are delighted to support once again Musica Felice Charity Concert where the profits was contributed to 2 institutions that support education and development program in Cambodia. The concert was attended by more than 700 persons and were able to raise $9,400 for the charity cause.

– Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra hosted a study tour for Hospitality Students from Beltei International University to provide an insight of the hotel operations to support their study program and future career aspiration.
– We support Paul Dubrule Tennis Cup 2022 to raise funds for École Paul Dubrule school which has been graduating hundreds of young Cambodians yearly to enter vital industry of hospitality and tourism.
– Our hotel is among the Top 5 Stars Hotel in Phnom Penh to participate in the MOU Signing ceremony with Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC) and Cambodia Tourism Association. The purpose of the partnership is to facilitate a closer collaboration on: Cooperation in vocational training from primary to higher education in tourism; Exchange experiences from each other; Provide job counseling to trainees who have graduated in tourism profession; Study, research and publish leaflets and information related to tourism ; and Co-organize various events.
– A total of 23 used books at the hotel was donated to Trash Library from Bonteay Meanchey Province.

– Our hotel is honored to receive a prestigious Schefflera Actinophylla – Umbrella Tree from Princess Norodom Marie Ranariddh. The tree was planted at the hotel’s lobby entrance.
– We initiate the use of EcoSpirits at Le Bar to tackle single use glass and generate huge savings in waste and carbon footprint for the environment.
– At Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, we encourage guests to return the hangers after using our laundry service. For every 25 hangers exchanged, we offer 1 complimentary trouser or shirt laundry.
– We are committed to the goal of eliminating all guest-related single-use plastic items by the end of 2022.

– Students from Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) finished their 6 months internship from different departments including front office, foods & beverages, engineer and kitchen.
– Students from Academy of Culinary Arts of Cambodia finished their 6 months internship with us.

– We have been awarded Certificate of Appreciation from Ministry of Environment for our contribution to environmental protection, natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable living.
– We organized a Great Clean-Up around our hotel. Over 250 Kg of garbage were collected by our team in less than 2 hours.
HELPING COMMUNITIES
– We collaborate with the team from Friend’s International Organization to offer free haircut and makeup tips to our Heartists on Heartist Appearance Day.
– Our hotel was named as the Shortlisted Nominee for the CSR Environment and Business Awards in the the 2021 Corporate Social Responsibility Contest hosted by EuroCham Cambodia.
– We are pleased to receive an appreciation letter from vaccination committee of Sangkat Tonle Bassac for our donation of 150 Dozens of Lyyon drinking water to the committee.
– We donated a total of 2,350sqm of carpet to Kol Toteng pagoda ahead of the upcoming Pchum Ben festival.
– We donated a total of 3 laptops for Passerelles numériques Cambodia which will support their students to continue training. This donation came as students are currently taking training through online and lacking laptops to access from their boarding houses.
– We hosted a charity concert which was performed by Musica Felice team. All of the profits from the concert was donated to Nginn KARET Conservatoire in Siem Reap and Phare Ponleu Selpak in Battambang. We also received recognition by French Ambassador for this kind donation.

– We supported young hotelier from oversea hospitality schools by providing internship program. The students come from Les Roches School Switzerland, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Beijing Foreign Study University.
– We had a partnership with Local NGOs and hospitality school including Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE), Project Khmer H.O.P.E & Meth Samlanh NGO for providing internship and job placement.

– We donated 138KG of our used newspaper, magazines and old calendar to be recycle into jewelry by Friends International. Thank you to the Concierge, Sales team for their effort.
– We donated 290L of used oil to Nagaearth and they will convert it to biogas. Thanks to the Steward team for their constant preparation of these oils.

Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra is engaged on the fight against the sexual exploitation of children. As part of the WATCH (We Act Together for the Children) in partnership with ECPAT our teams are devoted and has been trained to fight against this evil and encourage their customers to do the same.
